This year (2008) the three old men wanted to try another off road biking holiday.

In October we set off for a five day holiday (3 days riding) with Enduro Republic at their base in the middle of Portugal. We flew to Faro, hired a car, and with the TomTom programmed found our way easily to the village of Cabeco de Vide.

Dawn and David Allway have a great set up with good kit and great Honda off road bikes (I loved the 230 with the lower seat – able to get my leg over!).

David has a great knowledge of trails in the area and “tailored” our route to suit our abilities, with lunch in superb local restaurants.

The first day David took us over easy paths and trails allowing us to enjoy the countryside and scenery, and to settle down and get comfortable with the bikes.

On Day 2 the trails were a little more adventurous, especially the run through the Eucalyptus forest visit. For the third day we ran the ridge close to the Spanish Border. We had a great time on the bikes, and Vic spared the trees this year.

Dawn and David were marvellous friendly hosts, and the organisation was first class.

This was another great adventure (how long can the old men continue?? – watch this space!)

P.S. Dave and Dawn no longer operate their holidays in Cabeco de Vide
